The 30-day Amazon launch checklist we actually use
By Yaqoob Khan Zazai ·
A launch goes best when things happen in the right order. This is the week-by-week checklist we follow for a new product on Amazon.
Before day 1: foundations
Confirm the account settings, shipping and tax set-up, and Brand Registry status if you have a trademark. Check the product's category, size tier and fees so the price you set actually leaves a margin.
Week 1: listing first
Research keywords for the product and build the title, bullets, description and backend search terms around them. Brief the main images and, if you're brand registered, A+ content. Ask: does this page answer what a buyer wants to know?
Week 1: stock in place
Send enough inventory to cover the first weeks of sales plus the time a restock takes to arrive and check in. Running out early wastes the ranking the launch is trying to build.
Week 2: start advertising
Launch Sponsored Products with a simple structure: an automatic campaign to discover search terms, and manual campaigns for your most relevant keywords. Set budgets that last the full day.
Week 3: read the data
Review the search term report. Add negatives for terms that spend without selling, move proven terms into manual campaigns, and adjust bids. Check the listing's conversion rate and fix anything that stops buyers.
Week 4: tidy and plan
Check stock levels and set a reorder point. Review ACoS and TACoS per product. Write down what worked, what didn't, and the plan for month two — then keep reviewing weekly.
