Account health: the quiet killer of Amazon sales
By Yaqoob Khan Zazai ·
Sales rarely stop because of a single dramatic event. More often, small account health issues go unnoticed until a listing — or the account — is at risk.
Why it is quiet
Account health problems don't announce themselves on the sales chart until they're serious. A suppressed listing simply stops showing. A policy warning sits in a dashboard nobody opens. By the time sales drop, the cause can be weeks old.
What to watch weekly
Open the Account Health dashboard and check order defect rate, late shipment and cancellation rates, policy compliance and any listing-level warnings. Also check for suppressed or inactive listings in the inventory view.
Suppressed listings
Listings get suppressed for missing information, image issues or category requirements. They often take minutes to fix but can stay hidden for weeks if nobody looks. We check them every week.
Policy warnings and notices
Every notice has a reason and often a deadline. Read it carefully, fix the underlying cause, and keep a record of what you changed. Ignoring a warning is how small issues become bigger ones.
When you need to appeal
If a listing or account is deactivated, a clear Plan of Action explains what happened, what you fixed and how you'll prevent it. Be specific and honest. Nobody can guarantee reinstatement — Amazon decides — but a clear appeal gives you the best chance.
Make it a habit
Account health isn't a one-off task. A short weekly check, written down, is what keeps a healthy account healthy — and protects the sales you've already worked to earn.
